October 13, 2010 was the released date for The TV EP. I have to say that this 13 minute/6 track is an entertainment package all in one. With Kap Kallous ability to story tell, allows your mind to imagine what’s going on. I find that to be a bonus on this. Besides the great storytelling from Kap, I have to acknowledge the great samples from different Tv shows. The key is can you detect where each sample is from? I wasn’t able to but I was able to get a majority of them.

I will talk about the full EP due to the EP only has 6 tracks. Enjoy.

[Channel Surfing] The title is perfect for this. This is where you hear the most samples off of television characters over a beat. The samples, the beat, and the scratches fits perfectly. A few samples I was able to identify was Brain from Pinky and The Brain, a Transformer, and someone from the MacGyver show.

SEE TV IS POWER, THE POWER OF LOVE HAS DIED

[Let’s Do Lunch] Kap is an actor that basically nothing is going right for him. The script is wrong, his co-actor is the worse, and they didn’t give him what he ordered for lunch. The verses are describing different scenes they filmed that Kap went through. The hook is very catchy.

[Bitchuations] Bitchuations is based on a situation that Kap meets a girl that just didnt work out. The next time he goes to the bar the girl is there. And she wanted to hang out with Kap but he came with his girlfriend. The girl starts a fight and fights with Kap girlfriend. Kap is very descriptive in what’s going. I find it to be humorous the situation Kap put himself. At the end of the track you hear more TV samples.

[Go On] I feel like Kap is a detective and is going through the evidence of a crime scene. Descriptive of a horrific scene. I bumped my head to this one. This track has my favorite TV sample of all time. But you gotta hear it in order to figure that out. The first sample out of 3 at the end of the track.

I’LL TAKE A DRINK, WHEN THE DEVIL FALLS ASLEEP

[Where I Am] Love the way this track starts. The track is about what Kap endured while growing up. From arguments with his father, from his sister moving away to Gainesville, drugs, death of a family members and his best friend. The way Kap realizes where he is, is by the way the room smelled. I feel the structure of this track was executed wisely.

[Warphone] This track is talking about all the negatives that the world is going through. A lot of the things Kap mentions in Warphone is soo true! Everyone needs to take a listen to this one.

THERES A WAR GOING OUTSIDE, NO MAN IS SAFE

This concludes my 6 track EP Review on Kap KallousThe TV Ep. If you want to get this EP click the image at the top! Take a listen and judge for yourself.
