New Music: eMeX – No Love

If you haven’t gotten aware of the eMeX wave, then you’re slipping. The Baltimore-based rapper is quickly gaining traction along the current of the underground. In the last year he saw the potential of his come up being to be realized; eMeX worked with names like A$AP ANT and Slim K, along with a host of other underground entities. ‘No Love’ is a Just Treats produced single from his upcoming mixtape, to this point unnamed. It’s easy to see the clout coming for eM, this track has over 1,100 plays in just six days, and that’s without being featured on the best underground hip-hop blog on the internet (this one, of course).

The production is infectiously ambient, providing eMeX with a soft, pulsing canvas for his verses. ‘No Love’ is crafted on a personal note, with soul. eMeX uses this track as a declaration of himself, his independence, struggles, strengths, drive and purpose. You get the sense that he’s tired of waiting to be put on and he’s beginning to take what’s his. There’s no doubt he has the talent, the skill, and is on his way to having the following to create something for himself if he continues to be slept on. His forthcoming project should be nothing short of phenomenal, a come up is imminent.

Album Review: Lazare St James – Apocrypha

Lazare St James released his first album APOCRYPHA. The album is completely original, featuring it’s own production from SPK and J5. This project is nothing I’ve heard before from Lazare, which I hear a great sense of growth and potential. Through his journey on Apocrypha he shows us how he can be a serious rebel to having fun and keeping it cool. Thirteen amazing tracks from Lazare St James. I’m going to review my six favorite. Which are: Angel, Cali, Just Livin, Like A Cloud, Jump N Wave, and The Real.

Apocrypha: Various religious writings of uncertain origin regarded by some as inspired, but rejected by most authorities.

ANGEL Lazare is looking for his angel. Looking for the support he needs to get it all together. Really feeling his flow and delivery on this one. Will he find her? Production by J5.

CALI I’ve never been to Cali, but one day I’ll be there bumpin’ this track. Love how the track rides in and Lazare starts to rip this one. “Cali-fornia on it, warn ya, up on the mornin’ writing some of these sing song emcees are biting, blasphemy.” Production by SPK.

JUST LIVIN features EMCEE/Producer J5. Even though we give a presence that we’re living a great life but actually we got to go through some rough times. We’re just trying to live. Lazare St James and J5 let us know what they’ve been through and what they’re doing now.

LIKE A CLOUD The production by J5 gives a feel we’re flying high through the clouds. Lazare St James released the music video for this track. Take a look below:

JUMP N WAVE This track is definitely a hype one! I just feel like jumping along to the hook. I can see this track to get the crowd to interact during a performance. JUMP N WAVE is a fun song.

Today at E3 2013 Sony reveals that they are in development for Kingdom Hearts 3 on the Playstation 4. No known release date for the game yet. But you can feel the excitement when you watch the trailer above. For being a huge fan of the series and having a connection with the storyline.

I fell in love with Kingdom Hearts. I’ve played Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Birth By Sleep. It’s been 7 years since the last release from part two. Will Sora, Kairi, and Riku find King Mickey? They will have to travel from world to world defending our hearts from the darkness. Did you see the last clip? Can’t wait!

Twin city producer Psymun brings us his brand new single entitled Lobby Music featuring K. Raydio.This single comes from his upcoming album, SSV3 entirely produced by himself and fellow beat maker Damacha. The down tempo, soothing R&B record sends you into a state of ultimate relaxation speaking about a break-up & using alcohol to mend the pain.

I thought this record was absolutely amazing! The transition of the beat is phenomenal and stands strong as just an instrumental. Hearing K. Raydio’s vocals & content on the track though is what took it to a whole other level for me. Its made me really fall in love with the record. She speaks about someone she once adored who she’s no longer with and being one alcohol sip away from letting them back into her life. Psymun and Damacha released this project on May 2nd which only features artists from their hometown, Minneapolis. I definitely think he brings a new refreshing sound to the table. Someone who should be on everyone’s radar. We’re really looking forward to the rest of this album and any new music he may have for us in the future.

Movie Trailer: This is The End

June 12th Sony Pictures releases This is The End! The world is coming to an end and here’s what our favorite comedians will do to survive. Starring Seth Rogen, James Franco, and many other talented actors. James Franco decides to throw a huge party to celebrate the end the year. Little does everyone know the world is ending! Each actor/actress is acting as themselves during the movie. I think this is a great twist to the story.

I read the article from June/July 2013 issue of Complex Magazine they had with both Seth and James on the main cover and interviewed. They are a hilarious duo. Besides working together on they’re popular film Pineapple Express, Freaks and Geeks, they are also friends as well. Great interview by Foster Kamer.

Sho Baraka was extremely creative in the writing process of his song “Johnnie Cochran”. A rap vision of who done was a great twist from the norm. He painted the picture perfectly through his lyrics and then made it even better by playing every character in the video. This was definitely one the most memorable songs I’ve listened to in a while with a visual counterpart that’s just as memorable. There’s not much I can honestly say to describe this video besides watch it and respect the time and effort put into this art.

Check out the first official release from Rob Regis YoMyGod – off of his upcoming solo album The NHL (Nappy Headed Legend). The track features Rugodzilla and Soultree. I’m really diggin’ this track. I love the dark sense Rob Regis gives off with his flow. First and second verse Rob killed it. His second verse he gets mean!

Soultree compliments the track with her soultry vocals throughout YoMyGod. adlibs + harmonizing definitely gave it that extra spice. Love her outro on the track! Vibe out and trip hard! Zillanation emcee Rugodzilla makes his appearance on the track taking over the third verse. Liked his wordplay! This dope track was produced by South Florida producer/emcee Young Blesson.
