[ALBUM REVIEW] Dez Nado – LaDolceVita

LaDolceVita dez nado

[JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA] Making his debut on NikkiSiixx.com, we have inspiring artist Dez Nado with his latest album LaDolceVita! Dez Nado was able to bring a unique, politically/social conscious rap. When I first listened to this album, I felt he was speaking for the people who have dealt with heinous acts of violence because the difference in their skin color. All these injustices that led to the Black Lives Matter Movement.

What I really like about Dez Nado as an artist, he doesn’t rap the false pretenses of a rapper’s lifestyle. He’s more about bringing the light to all the darkness that’s plaguing our country. What’s also unique about Dez Nado he produces and stars in his own locally air cable reality TV series called “Life & Grind: Duval” (airs Sundays at 8pm on Bounce Network – Comcast 225/Digital 17-2). This Tv Series shines the spotlight on local talent here in Jacksonville, including himself, in addition to producing his own music.

dez nado ladolcevita promoLaDolceVita was featured on 360Magazine, Thisis50, Hip Hop Reviews 4D, and DownSouthHipHop. This time I’m going to have an in-depth review of LaDolceVita. My favorite tracks from Dez Nado’s album are LaDolceVita, Prelude 2 Revolution, American Dream, Duele, Luv The Way U Do, Fed Up, Pain, More 2 Life, and Immigrant Story. Check out what I thought about Dez Nado’s LaDolceVita:

[01. LADOLCEVITA] – What a way to introduce you to Dez Nado, from the triumphant sounding production and vocals by Jermeka Monae. This track is meant for the ones who work for what they want. All about the hard hustle and getting the deserving accomplishments. Enjoying life to the fullest with what you got and being appreciated. Great and positive energy that pours through the speakers.

[03. PRELUDE 2 REVOLUTON] Dez Nado puts together an interlude that has actual audio clips from Tupac talking about the Panthers and the government. Then an activist who supports Black Lives Matter and how they’re reacting to the un-justice for all the lives lost, and a very extremely powerful poetic spoken-word speech regarding all the violence that has been occurring through police brutality and voicing her right for her anger.
black-lives-matter

[04. AMERICAN DREAM] Dez Nado expresses he’s thoughts on all the victims that have been happening due to police brutality. Unnecessary roughness that ended the lives of these innocent unarmed victims. All Dez Nado is asking for is peace and equality. The track also features Jermeka Monae with the vocals and Tyler Norris with the poetic speech at the end of the track.

[06. DUELE] How couldn’t post this track? Showing love for the Boriqua’s Dez Nado show’s his skills in rapping in Spanish and English. Love the production of this track! The song makes us visuals Dez Nado in Puerto Rico meeting a beautiful Puerto-Rican and she gives him a tour of the city. A mix of salsa, hip-hop, and R&B makes you want to dance to the beat. DUELE features Jermeka Monae, Gabriele and Twenty8.

dez nado[11. FED UP] It starts with a reality check, listen to what the voice has to say. The track really provides with the production a hard hitting bass with Royal Francis providing bars for the first verse. On the hook and second verse we got Dez Nado. He’s giving a word of an advice to not pay attention to the ones who don’t believe in you and you’re able to do what your heart wants.

[14. MORE 2 LIFE] Dez Nado gets mean on this one, how can you not! Getting frustrated with the system, and working hard and not getting the joys of life. The track features Meanz of Operation, I find their collaboration to be pretty dope. A lot of energy and emotion on this track.

[17. IMMIGRANT STORY] Dez Nado takes us on a journey like no other. An immigrant’s point of view of living in circumstances that are life threatening and what can happen to Syrian’s that are struggling to survive. It’s an amazing tale, so descriptive and Dez Nado is very passionate with this story. If you close your eyes you can watch the movie play. Take a listen you won’t regret it.

This concludes my album review of Dez Nado’s LADOLCEVITA. Conscious rapper from Jacksonville, Florida making a choice to talk about what’s really important over great production. Be on the look out for more content from Dez Nado coming soon.

Audio: Jared Xavier – The World Is Mine

jared xavier the world is mine

[WILKES-BARRE, PA] Jared Xavier makes his second appearance on NikkiSiixx.com with his latest single THE WORLD IS MINE. With his lyrics he makes valid points on this psychedelic track produced by @AbJonian. Such as “We are the ones who control the world”, cops targeting Young Black Americans, and it’s now our time to shine. The piano provides a jazzy feel to it but then theres an electric sounds providing an EDM/trance vibe. It works! It’s hard not to follow along with his hook. Great track and you should be looking forward to more content from PA’s talented artist Jared Xavier.

The single also features Dezy with her soulful voice, it really provides the laid back vibe to the CHILL INTRO. Which complements the visuals captured by LrK Productions, especially the headlight view in front of the car while it’s driving. Pretty dope.

Chronicle shows the struggle of everyday life and the simplest things in life to help get through these struggles. At the end you get a taste of BLACK COFFINS. Chronicle releases a new song over Dom Kennedys ‘Black Bentleys‘ giving insight on black lives through the eyes of a young black man in a world that’s against him. EP Review: RealProperLike – Signs

signs front cover realproperlike

realproperlike[MIAMI, FLORIDA] A poet expressing himself through his music, RealProperLike exhibits his five track EP signs as a form of creativity inspired by the South Florida community. With signs in was created by the spirit of Art Basel 2015. According to RealProperLike “The concept of “signs” is to creatively express a journey of thoughts ranging from acceptance, dropping jewels, art, life, and love as only I can paint it”. I’ll be reviewing my favorite tracks off RealProperLike’s signs EP and what is his lyrical art exhibit trying to display.

INFORMATION – RealProperLike is a philosopher and goes in-depth with information he wants to provide you. He even talks about being more grateful to everything in your life. And even sneaks in a history lesson in there. The way RealProperLike breaks it down you can image it in your mind. Very descriptive just like a story teller.

ART – One thing I really like about this track is the theatrical flow RealProperLike has when he’s reciting his lyrics. The Beat is dope as hell, it was executive produced by realproperlike, custom made @custom60625, serious beats @seriousbeats, and by the audio genius [kr]ypton @mrbandason. Recorded, mixed, and mastered at @fsstudiomiami/ @kingpinstation. This has to be my favorite track off the signs EP.

SLAVE – You gotta bob your head to this one. RealProperLike expresses the struggles of Black Lives Matter. When the beat drops it really makes your concentrate on his poetic flows. Embracing his roots and feeling liberated that him and his people are strong and they are no one’s property.

signs back cover

“A full time worker – part time poet/part time philosopher.
Who am I? A different type of thinker, a big kid with an old soul”. – RealProperLike

Signs is a proper prelude to further creativity, critique, and conversation as any art exhibit should provide. RealProperLike paints the picture, can you see it? Be on the lookout for more content from RealProperLike by following him on social media:

Music Video: Crossword – Breathe

Crossword - Breathe Still 2

Crossword - Breathe Still 1[TORONTO, ON] Crossword is a Iranian-Canadian emcee that likes to talk about politics than swag, or to serenade than cater to the gentleman’s club, intelligent lyricism, witty wordplay and passionate delivery are staples in Crossword’s repertoire. This visual for BREATHE, uses actual video footage of riots between Minorities against the Police. For years, there’s been cases of police brutality against unarmed citizens of the United States. Especially African Americans, in an alarming rate. Crossword expresses how it’s difficult to simply breathe without having someone stalking information.

The video shows Crossword being followed by some type of Government figure. He ends up getting kidnapped and has to deal with serious interrogation. It even seems like torture. What are they trying to figure out from Crossword, or does Crossword have something against them. The hook says It’s Getting Hard To Breathe which I feel was inspired by last words of victim Eric Gardner. Since his last words we’re “I Can’t Breathe” after getting choked hold to death by officer Daniel Pantaleo. In which he wasn’t indicted by a grand jury for the murder of Eric Gardner. The list goes on and on from more victims by the overreactions of police officers or even having ulterior motives. By releasing BREATHE Crossword hopes to expose more of what’s really going on. I can keep on with this topic, but lets get back to the music. Crossword’s debuted his full-length album XW which is available now via BANDCAMP. BREATHE was Directed by Daniel Gates and Produced by Justunlimited. I really do like the beat on this one and Crossword’s flow is dope. See for yourself and Press Play! cropped-awkwordrap_banner
Activist. Sociologist. Gonzo Journalist, Rapper AWKWORD world premieres his single HEADLINES on HIPHOPDX. HEADLINES was also produced by Beyonce’s “7/11” (OG) Bobby Johnson. Very dope collaboration between the two. AWKWORD takes us on a look back on what he’s done in 2014. From selling his album, getting compensated for a track such as DEEP SEA for The Ocean Project, and being an active protestor. I really like AWKWORD’s flow and tone to his lyrics.
