I’m bringing a new review series called The Gotham Rundown. This will be a weekly review series based off already released episodes of FOX’s new hit television series called GOTHAM. If you haven’t watched the series I recommend you do so now, before I go all in twenty-two episodes. Season Two is set to premiere on Monday September 21st.
I watched this episode when it originally aired on FOX last year in October and I fell in love. A new twist on the classic character on BATMAN. But with a twist! We catch a young lady who seems to be a young cat woman. Having cat like reflexes, likes milk, and has sticky fingers. All of a sudden we see a young Bruce Wayne with his mother and father walking down an alleyway. Then unexpectedly they get shot by a mugger. Bruce witness his parents murder and also did Selina.
The story behind GOTHAM is about Jim Gordon becoming a detective for the GCPD. You already know from the beginning that Jim is a cop with a smart mind, and it looking for justice in this corrupted city. Teaming up with Harvey Bullock, Jim see’s another side of how things really work around here. We come across FISH MOONEY. I love her! Jada Pinkett Smith does a superb job of a empowered woman villain.
One thing I really liked about the series is that they used characters from the original BATMAN story like The Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman. They’re not in their full roles as villains just yet. We just have to wait and see what happens later down the line. Jim is compelled to do right in Gotham. On his first case, he takes on the murder of the Wayne’s. What’s really going on here? Also, another touch on the show I really like you’re not really sure what time era there in. It looks and feel like the 60’s 70’s but can’t since their using cell phones and more current technologies. The overall vision of Gotham as a detective series is pretty ingenious. Hopefully throughout the season we’ll be able to learn more on Bruce Wayne too. Love the suspense and violence that comes with it. Very adult themed.
Catch next Monday another Gotham Rundown. Where I discuss episodes Two “Selina Kyle” and episode Three “The Balloon Man”. I also don’t want to reveal too much from the episode because I still want to leave you wanting to see more. If you’re interested in catching up on the series you can currently watch episodes on Hulu or on Fox. But I think you need to be paid members in order to watch all episodes. Currently the last 5 episodes (18 -22) are free to watch on Hulu.
