LP Review: Chronicle – Bright Nights

chronicle-bright-nights-lp

[JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA] It’s been about two years since aspiring hip-hop artist Chronicle released DARK DAYS EP. But now for the end of 2015 Chronicle brings us his first LP entitled BRIGHT NIGHTS. Through his hiatus Chronicle was able to work on his craft and was able to find his place in music. With my LP Review I’ll be going over my favorite tracks off the Bright Nights (Deluxe Edition).

IMG_0409Even though the title of the LP “Bright Nights” maybe an oxymoron term but it definitely provides a positive through negative type of vibe. Chronicle remains with soulful sounds such as 90’s R&B, Jazz, and Hip-Hop. He was able to portray these vibes with the help from producers Taylor King, LB, Saul xo, Stevie Fanta, ghost/\/ghoul, Soul, and atlastheoverseer.

BRIGHT NIGHTS LP is a story reflecting on the struggle corcerning his family, relationship woes, insecurities, and a distaste for the current direction of the music scene. Regardless to all these issues/struggles Chronicle insist that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. Anything you do, make sure it’s done with love.

CHILL ASS INTRO is a great way to show you a sense of what Chronicle is going through and how the vibe it’s setting itself. Right at the beginning you hear from his parents, loved ones, about when is he getting his music together? The intro also features Dezy.

NOSTALGIC kinda reminds me of Gangsta’s Pradise from Coolio. With that dark night/90’s hip-hop production. “Give my people something to live for, Give my people something to die for.” That hook is eternal! Throughout everyone struggle they need to see the light in order to have the reason to live and climb through any obstacles.

LET ME LIVE I feel that this track can definitely be played in a club setting. Especially with the chorus, I can see the crowd go through a trance. Chronicle speaks the truth from experience. Coming together with good people and celebrating with what life has to offer. And if anyone has an issue with that, then give them that middle finger.

POUR OUT YA SOUL really expresses how he feels about his family and how he is when it comes to certain situations. Chronicle also touches topics regarding how people are following trends and eve insecurities in relationships. During these tough times, Chronicle is compelled to search for hope from a higher power.

DO YOU LOVE ME, I feel this track is one of the strongest one on the Bright Nights LP. Discussing the problem he has regarding now a days with woman calling themselves bad bitches and not giving themselves enough dignity.

MIDNIGHT DRIVE is setting the mood for those late night drives with someone you’re interested in. This track is meant for that special lady in your life. Everything about this girl is something you can’t ignore. Chronicle expresses the intensity of attraction. With a minute left in the song you can hear how Chronicle embraces that R&B style he loves so much.

O.T.S is the track to help younger generations to realize things should be done when you’re truly ready such as having kids at a young age. Hoping that other parties will understand and respect your decision. Especially when it comes to letting certain people out of your lives. O.T.S features Vizzle.

This concludes my take on the Bright Nights LP brought to you by Jacksonville Upcoming Hip-Hop Artist Chronicle! If you’re diggin’ the project as much as I am you need to go and support it now and purchase it via iTunes! By doing so you’ll be able to get the BONUS tracks too that include I’m Just Doing Me, Bright Nights, American Dream, and Do You Remember.

Music Video: Jeff Jericho – Drives Me Crazy

jeff jericho

Jeff Jericho, an American Hip-Hop / Rap artist from Los Angeles, CA. Released his third visual off of his The Jericho Experience project; with DRIVES ME CRAZY. Song was produced by J-Myth. Jeff Jericho expresses his story about being an only child, until his mother remarries. Gaining a step-father and step-brother. He would witness the fights they’ll have because his step-brother wasn’t doing anything right and his step-father wasn’t going to deal with his son’s ignorance. Jeff definitely feels that it’s not worth it to loose it all for nothing. Jeff Jericho relates the rising numbers in crimes regarding gun violence. With friends he knew making bad choices and dying because of it. He feels that these topics wouldn’t phase him, but little did he know it was driving him a bit crazy. Jeff Jericho is currently working on his next project Cake Dreams, which is set to release mid Spring 2015!

NikkiSiixx.com goes in on a mini interview with Hip-Hop Artist from Delware, B2DaDot. He has done so much within his career. Being able to accomplish nine mixtapes, and is currently working on his next release that will be titled BETTER THAN GOOD, production credits with Cassidy, Freeway, Fat Joe, Joel Ortiz, Joe Budden and others. And most recently he has been in the studio writing for artists such as Young Jeezy, Wiz Khalifa, B.O.B. and a long list of up and coming talent.

He opened up for mainstream artists such as Jim Jones, J. Holiday, Ryan Leslie, Freeway, Doug E. Fresh, DJ Spinderella, Lil Mama, Styles P, Cassidy, Tone Trump, Gillie Da Kid, Meek Mill, DJ Kid Capri, DJ Khaled, Young Jeezy, Joe Budden, D12 and many more.
During this interview we go over his eighth mixtape ‘We Aint Hurtin‘, his inspirations, fans, features, and how he feels about his recent move to the Sunny State of Florida.

NIKKISIIXX: If you were to look in the mirror. What would you tell the person in the reflection regarding your current circumstance with your music career.
B2DADOT: I would tell my reflection we have come so far, but there is still more work to be done.
B4NIKKISIIXX: On your mixtape ‘We Aint Hurtin’ you have two infamous features on it. Rick Ross and French Montana. How was it working with them? Did they give you any advice?
B2DADOT: The thing now with music is that everyone is so busy nowadays and touring and doing shows that it is hard to get in the studio with artist and create. So most of my bigger features get emailed to me.

NIKKISIIXX: What was your inspiration with your track PAIN IN A GLASS featuring Javonna?
B2DADOT: Pain In A Glass is kinda how I deal with life. Whether a long week, stress or whatever I always pour me up a drink (preferably Ciroc). Pain In A Glass was also the first record I ever opened up to my fans about my father committing suicide. It took me almost three years to put that on a record.

NIKKISIIXX: You were born and raised from Wilmington Delaware, and recently moved down to Miami, Florida. Any pros and cons to your relocation?
B2DADOT: Moving to Miami was way better for my career. Anyone who is someone in music, comes through Miami almost on the regular. So it was just a better overall move for me. Plus the weather is great. I think everyone is snowed in back in Delaware. Lol

NIKKISIIXX: You have about 19 Thousand Followers on Twitter? How does that make you feel? & how do you interact with you’re followers?
B2DADOT: It makes me feel great. I love my fans. They are very interactive on twitter. At the end of the day I am still a fan of music. So the things I wish artist did for the fans are things I try to implement with my fans & be as interactive as possible so even though we are miles away they can still feel apart of my day to day.

NIKKISIIXX: Any Last Words?
B2DADOT: Be on the lookout for my debut album entitled “Better Than Good”. Also download my single “She Bad” on itunes right now. Lastly, be on the lookout for my first book entitled “Priorites”.

Download: Sincerely Yours featuring Neak & Slot-A, “Truly Understand Me”

Truly Understand Me

While musical unity seems apparent in various areas of the country, I must say I am growing to appreciate a movement that’s forming in the midwest. Chicago and its surrounding areas are buzzing with extremely dope artists and seldom do these folks get the shine they most definitely deserve. Just the other day, I tweeted my dudes Neak and Slot-A telling them that I really liked a new record they sent me. But there was a new voice, that I didn’t recognize. Allow me to introduce Sincerely Yours.

Hailing from Oak Park, IL, Sincerely Yours dropped off this crazy statement track featuring my aforementioned dynamic homie duo, Neak and Slot-A. Neak rocks the hook then laces us with the first verse, setting the tone of the story. Sincerely Yours, takes it to the next level, then Slot-A, who also produced the track, comes in with the finale. They simply hope to be truly understood. I’m sure we all feel like that sometimes.

Turn the volume up, and let this ring off. Warning, immediate two stepping may take place.

Want more where this came from? Head on over to our good friends at DJBooth.net to download Sincerely Yours’ latest effort, the self-titled, Sincerely Yours.

Be sure to follow these folks: @Sinceninesix, @Neak_Undefined & @IAmSlotA
