Welcome back to another Gotham Rundown! This week I’m going to be discussing on Episodes Six and Seven. Last week I went in on episodes four and five, where we left off with Fish Mooney working on a trap for Falcone, Gordon discovers the influence crime has on Gotham, and Maroni believes he has the upper hand with having Penguin on his team. Here’s what happened on episodes Six and Seven:
Episode Six – Spirit Of The Goat
We go back Ten Years Ago Spirit of The Goat a man claims while he looks himself in the mirror, while putting on a mask. We witness a kidnapping were Bullock was working the case. His partner Dick, he tells Bullock that they need to wait for back-up. Bullock is desperately searching for the girl. She is setup on stage on a platform, she’s posed like if she was getting sacrificed. They go against the Spirit of The Goat and here’s where Bullock partner is injured. Also, Bullock shot the murderer to death. Ten Years Later Bullock comes across a victim that is puts his victim through the same rituals as the Spirit of The God. Bullock swears it has to be a copy-cat. Gordon is not at the scene yet, he’s still dealing with Barbara being so pushy about knowing Gordon’s issues and what’s happening in the city. He agrees to tell her everything. Montoya is still pursing her case about Gordon murdering Penguin. Gordon makes it to the scene of the crime. Bullock requests from Enigma to call him as soon as he gets the autopsy report. Bullock and Gordon headed to the victim’s parents house to find out a bit more about the victim. The parents seemed really out of it, the father seems terrified about a repetitive nightmare and some hand shakes. The family’s psychologist lets them know that they can’t help much because of their state of the lost. Enigma has this infatuation with the receptionist from the file room, but it seems like he doesn’t know how to talk to a woman.
Penguin comes back to see his mother, his mother assumes he was with a woman that’s why he’s been gone. But in reality he’s trying to get his respect from Gotham. The medical examiner goes over the autopsy and misses a key, a penny was inserted into the victim’s skull. Bullock was able to call it before they found it. Which leaves him to believe the Spirit of Goat is back. Bruce has no worries to this Goat Killer, but he feels no threat because he can’t take him away from his parents. It wouldn’t make sense. Bullock and Gordon goes and visits Dick, Bullock’s passed partner. Dick assumes it’s a conspiracy. You can see Bullock in the hallway where he’s taking care of Dick’s bills. This shows how Bullock is a caring guy. We watched as another victim is taken. They’re running out of time. Barbara visits Montoya at the Police Station, explaining to her that what you think is happening is not really happening. And she’s willing to tell her everything in order to help Jim. I find that to be very deceiving on Barbara’s behalf. And especially she doesn’t really know what’s going on herself. Montoya address to Barbara that tonight they’ll have an arrest warrant for Gordon and she needs to get outta town.
Gordon and Bullock gets a lead and they’re in the same place 10 years ago. Bullock tells Gordon to get the girl, while he fights the Spirit of The Goat. Gordon comes in time to help with the fight, knocks him out. Now we see Kat entering Bruce’s home. Where she catches Bruce sleeping on the couch. She notices his board of all the people he’s trying to link together. And ends up stealing something from his desk. Bullock finds it hard to believe that this is the same Spirit of The Goat. Enigma reorganized her whole file room, which leaves her to think Enigma is so odd. Especially how he always leaves her notes, and she despises his riddles. Bullock went to the first victims family psychologist. He assumes that she might have put the murderers under a trance. She says she is cleaning out the situation out of Gotham. She is able to control people with a few key phases. She was trying to get away and Bullock shot her. In the GCPD here’s where Gordon is put under arrest and they also obtain Bullock as an accomplice. Right before they are taking Oswald Copplebot makes his grand entrance and to everyone’s surprise, he’s alive.
Episode Seven – Penguin’s Umbrella
After Penguin makes his grand entrance on GCPD. Penguin is roaming the streets of Gotham and Fish Mooney is really upset to find out Gordon lied about killing Penguin. Bullock is really upset to find out Gordon lied. Jim keeps trying to get in contact with Barbara, but no answer. Barbara was in custody of Mooney’s people. Gordon comes to find and shoots one of her guys and tells them to leave Barbara out of this. Gordon has Barbara leave out of town to get her out of danger. Mooney tells Falcone they need to kill Penguin, Gordon, and Bullock. But Falcone tells Mooney she needs to talk nice to Maroni to get back her Umbrella boy. Falcone calls his man Victor, to pick up Gordon at the GCPD. What a fucked up situation! All the officers sold him out and no one has his back. They have a shootout in the department. Jim gets shot and runs away from Victor and his woman shooters. Who would’ve guessed Montoya and Allen, saved Jim in the knick of time. Mooney went to Maroni’s to talk about the Penguin. She wants her respect. Fish Mooney lets Penguin know she’ll get him one way or another. And slaps him for calling her Fish, when the only people who can call her that are only her friends. Mooney intercepted Maroni’s truck and said that they will stop as soon as they get Penguin back. Montoya apologizes for not believing in Gordon. Gordon takes them to Bruce’s because he wanted to tell him there’s a possibility he won’t make it and Montoya & Allen will take the case. Maroni sends Penguin and his team to go attack one of Mooney’s secret spots. They killed everyone including Mooney’s lover. Penguin actually set up Marooni’s right hand man, and ends up killing him with the help of his own boys. Penguin stabs him to death and kisses his head while he dies. Pretty weird.
Maroni and Falcone set a meeting to stop the violence, Gotham Project is on a go, why risk all that over Penguin. Falcone will let Marooni keep Penguin in exchange of some real estate. Bullock shows up and tells Gordon that he’s apart of the plan, considering he’s a dead man himself. Gordon’s plan is to arrest Falcone and the Mayor for the framing of Mario Pepper and corruption in Gotham City. Falcone and the Mayor thinks Gordon is pretty insane. Falcone admits that Barbara came back to Gotham and went straight to him, Victor has Barbara. If Gordon tries to arrest Falcone he will have Barbara killed. Gordon backs down and they returned Barbara. Falcone is letting them go, to let Jim know he’ll eventually see eye to eye with what’s really going on. The Penguin gives Falcone a surprise visit at his chicken coop. He said my friend, meaning the Penguin and him are on the same page? There’s a flash back to the first meeting between Penguin and Falcone. Where Penguin admits to him Mooney’s secret that she was sleeping with the other mobster and they were going to take his spot, but in reality it’s Mooney who wants to take over. Thanks to the Penguin Jim, Harvey, and Barbara lives we’re spared.
