North Miami Beach has been birthing a solid quality of hip-hop like Zoey Dollaz, DZ the Rapper and FloKid. Amongst that class is fellow NMB artist, Jeff Stones, who started his year with the release of his single “Wave”. The smooth production was created by Element Jetson. Stones lets listeners know that they still have time to catch his wave before he explodes. Just like his aforementioned peers Jeff Stones is big on lyrical ability and a smooth delivery. He gets his point across clear and concisely on this joint. Check it out below:
North Miami Beach son, DZ the Rapper, not too long ago released his newest single “Hey My Nigga”. It’s a great way to enter the new year after seeing the success of fellow NMB artist and friend Zoey Dollaz for his breakout single “Blow A Check”. The production was done by a well known South Florida DJ, DJ Illusion, he gave the track a grimy trap feel. I love how hungry DZ sounds on this joint. This has the potential to be an anthem this summer and that’s coming from the same guy that predicted “OG Bobby Johnson” would become a hit. I have been silently watching DZ the Rapper’s movement for a while and this song proves that he has the potential to have crossover success.

[MIAMI, FLORIDA] Growing up in different neighborhoods from North Miami Beach, to Overtown, to Perrine, and even down to Homestead. Lamont was living and dealing with the struggles of living in the inner city. Even witnessing his parents battle drug addiction which gave him the strength to vow to never sell those drugs under any kind of circumstance. This is where Lamont truly began developing himself as a person. Currently, Lamont has released his Respect My Grind project that consists of five tracks. I gotta say that Respect My Grind was very well put together. Project credits from recorded by Lifer Entertainment, Mixed by D.Shim Productions, and Executive Produced by Lamont himself. Respect My Grind has a powerful vivid honesty that goes well with his empathetic lyrics. Lamont starts with Disclaimer, bringing that hardcore side of himself with the grittiness of his flow. Then Lamont brings with his next track MASHED POTATOES. Feel with R&B vibes and a catchy hook. A track to get your girl in the mood. The following track is entitled ANOTHER YEAR, which is dedicated to all the people you know who are no longer here. Its like we need to celebrate cause we’re here for another year. Another dope track with those R&B vibes. Then Lamont takes us to church with his track LORD KNOWS. Lamont goes in on this one, he describes a woman asking why they took her baby, he was killed from violence on the street. RESPECT MY GRIND is more of a fun, soulful track where Lamont gives you his back story and let’s you know the only way to work is going the hardest. My favorite tracks are Disclaimer, Mashed Potatoes, and Another Year. But my all time favorite track has to be MASHED POTATOES, because how catchy it is and his flow is sick on this one. Your left impressed with his capability to flow on these different sounding tracks. Lamont did a mixture of sampled and boom-bap beats. Respect The Grind is worth the listen since Lamont is standing up in his artistry and expressing himself the best way he knows how, and that’s through his music. Be on the look out for more releases from Lamont by following his social media links.
Miami’s own Jeff Stones brings another smooth jam to our speakers with his new track “City Lights” One thing you can always expect from a Jeff Stones track is honesty, as such is the case in “City lights”. The verses offer a controlled aggression oozing confidence while the chorus reminds you that that he is capable of drooping a smooth harmony. Listening to “City Lights” takes you through a ride of his environment at night. He is reflecting on the days past with eyes on the days to come. His combination of flow and harmony along with his southern tone is a Big Krit and Kirko Bangs combination that any Hip-Hop fan can enjoy and vibe too. Jeff Stones has been making the airwaves on online radio stations and underground radio stations and with tracks like “City Lights”, it is not hard to see why.”City Lights” will be featured on his debut EP title “No Regrets” is due in Fall 2015. Master plan, master mind, tryna be rich forever. LINKS || TWITTER || INSTAGRAM || SOUNDCLOUD ||
A while back we posted the track “Midnight Marauder” that North Miami Beach’s prodigy, FloKid, did over the song by Logic of the same name. Today he has graced us with a visual that is as smooth as the delivery he used on the track. He truly shows of Miami as you see him cruising the city which he calls home. Along with that he stands in the street kicking lyrics to the camera like a ninja in a strapback and rocksmith sweats. The video was a great representation of the subject matter of a young man that’s representing where he’s from while working his way to put his mother in a better position. Check it out below.
