[GAMING] Pokémon Go And It’s Unbelievable Amount of Success

pokemongo art

Last year when the official trailer release for an app that will allow you to capture Pokémon in the real world called, Pokémon Go. I released an article regarding the possibility the app will be overshooting it’s capabilities. What I should of focused on was the real capability of this app’s full potential on impacting the world.

IMG_5878If you’re playing Pokémon Go you know exactly what I’m talking about. This app hits right in the heart of a 90’s kid. The nostalgia this game created by bringing back the original 150 Pokémon search is a great moment. Bringing gamers who would usually stay inside the majority of their days are now walking miles in search and the ability to say you caught them all. Uniting people who would of never talked in the first place to long chats about Pokémon, where they found their rarest ones, and just funny stories or sharing memes. Also allowing people to conquer social anxieties when talking to new people and now being able to communicate face to face instead online in a chat room.

IMG_5808But sometimes there are downsides to great things, where there’s light there will always be darkness. People have been using this to lure people in traps getting robbed at Pokéstops. So it’s really about not going at 2AM in an area you’ve never been before. Because you’re only looking for trouble. Explore the world during the day AND REALLY BE AWARE OF YOURE SOUNDINGS AND DONT BE OBNOXIOUS TO OTHERS WHILE SEARCHING FOR POKéMON. SUCH AS LIKE ENTERING PRIVATE PROPERTY, AND STOPING YOUR CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC RISKING AN ACCIDENT.

Back to the good news, after about three weeks of a majority of the world playing this app Nintendo doubles in it’s Nintendo Stock. Increasing the value and impact the app has acquired. As we wait patiently for weekly updates, we can’t wait for the chance to start trading Pokémon with other Pokémon Trainers. But in the mist of it all, I’ve met a bunch of people who have the same love for Pokémon as I. Last weekend, I attended a #PokéWalkMiami and for about 3-4 hours a bunch of us went on a search for Pokémon. Setting up lures and owning Wynwood! Shoutout to @NormaNow & @See_Fig!

[DOWNLOAD] Dezzy Yates – Tales From The Checkered Backpack

dezzy yates

[COLUMBUS, GA] Making his very first appearance on NikkiSiixx.com, Christian Hip-Hop Artist Dezzy Yates brings us his album TALES FROM THE CHECKERED BACKPACK. The twelve track album brings you insight from a self proclaimed video gamer, Japanese comic, Pokemon, and Hip-Hop enthusiast. Dezzy Yates also wants to spread the word to “tell people about Jesus and share and create great music that people can relate to.”

Inspired by artists like Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Kid Cudi as well as street dancers Salah, Mike “Boogaloo Shrimp” Chambers, and the Jabbawockeez, intertwined with his faith in Jesus Christ and his love for nerd “stuff”. Dezzy Yates gives the listener an honest, truthful, and fun experience. I really like the choice of production Dezzy Yates chose to represent his tales from the checkered backpack. Dezzy narrates his life from 2010-2013, here’s where he had many life changing events that led him to give his life for Jesus Christ. This album has its ups and its downs. And definitely has its fun songs filled with video game and Pokemon references.

dezzy yates photoCurrently, my favorite tracks from Dezzy Yates Album Tales From The Checkered Backpack are Tales, Pallet Town, Just Another Night, Step Daddys Altima, Sonic Boom, One Day, Kid In The Crowd, Temptation, Misguided, and INFTY & BYND. Not bad 10/12 tracks liked on this project. Dezzy Yates is able to capture my attention through his flows and the topics he’s talking about. Definitely providing a visual illustration in my mind.

Dezzy Yates states in the press release for his album “I tried for so long to be like everyone else, rap and dance like the “cool kids”, and fit in so bad. After giving my life to Christ and confronting the things I was dealing with, I felt compelled to write a project that documented everything. The whole point of this album: to reach those out there who are like me.” After listening to his project, I feel I can relate to Dezzy and I think everyone should listen to this project with open minds. Stay in the loop with Dezzy Yates and make sure you follow him on all his social media below.

pokken-tournament-header

Looks like Nintendo fans have more than just Super Smash Bros. to give them their Pokemon fighting fix. Coming from a collaboration with Bandai Namco, Pokken tournament just might be the fighting game that Pokefans have been waiting for. If you grew up playing Pokemon on your Gameboy, then you remember the simple animations on the various moves. Pokken Tournament fully renders out these fantastic attacks and the aesthetics are sure to please new and old fans alike.

Pokken Screen 1

Machamp giving the the hands

You pick a trainer, you pick a partner Pokemon and you go on a journey to conquer the Ferrum league. The story isn’t nything outside of the typical Pokemon fare, but the story is not why we’re here. You make your trainer and there are a lot of customization options available for them through the use of in game money or by tapping any Amiibo figurines you might own.

Pokken Screen 3

Got my trainer swaggin’ hard

The fighting is fluid and does things differently from your typical fighting game. If you come into this playing like its Smash Bros. or Street Fighter then you’re in for a rude awakening. The moves have a feeling of weight and connection behind them which is very important to the genre. It feels very responsive when you’re handing out whoopins.k

Pokken Screen 2

Pikachu comin’ at ya from the top of the turnbuckle!

I had a lot of fun with Pokken tournament so make sure to check out the video above for more thoughts and see me go toe to toe with another trainer online in order to test my skills.

Videogames: Pokémon Go App Overshooting It’s Capabilities?

pokemon go

inline-576x240After watching this incredible commercial on what the Pokémon GO experience is in the real world. But in reality, this is not how the experience is going to be when you do play it. As you see the photo above, it’s going to be you, yourself searching for imaginary Pokémon. In random locations near you or to location you’ll travel to. At least it’s going to make people go outside and want to look around for them. And then you can even trade and battle with other Pokémon trainers. In the video we see how the trainers are looking out to see the Pokémon there, like if it was a hologram. Making the game seem more realistic. This would totally make me get one if it was like that, but it’s not. I’ll just wait for an advance version in the near future. But the App will be available in 2016 on iPhone and Android devices. Pokémon GO will use real location information to allow players to experience catching, trading, and battling Pokémon. Niantic, Inc., The Pokémon Company, and Nintendo Co., Ltd., will all contribute to the Pokémon GO project. Visit they’re site for more information. What are your intakes on Pokémon Go? Are you getting it? Or you think it’s getting high expectations? Here’s an image at 2:58 of the visual of the actual gameplay on the iPhone:

HOT TOPIC: HOW MEEK MILL COULD’VE ETHER-ED DRAKE

meek-mill-vs-drake-2015-nikkisiixx

This is not B.I.G. vs. 2Pac. This is not Jay Z vs. Nas. Contrary to Meek Mill’s belief, this is certainly not 50 Cent vs. Ja Rule. This is not even beef, “Beef is when you need two gats to go to sleep.” This is a rap BATTLE. Whether you find it entertaining or not, you cannot deny that this current rap battle has sparked an energy and buzz around the music industry that we have not seen in many years. While all signs are pointing to Drake as the guy demolishing his opponent right now, what if I told you it could have very easily resulted another way. I’m about to tell you how Meek Mill could’ve ether-ed Drake.

5l4Gb0XaWhen Meek Mill gathered factual proof that Drake does not write all of his raps on his own, he should have never broke the news on Twitter. Today’s younger rap fans and Drake fans might say it does not matter, but guess what: IT DOES MATTER and people who live and breathe the culture knows this. This is one of, if not the biggest thing you can ever hold over a MC’s head in a battle. Instead of a Twitter post, he should have recorded a diss verse (preferably over a Drake beat) and release it on the Internet without any warning. In the verse he should have aimed a line or two at Drizzy like, “And don’t compare to me Drake, he don’t write all of his own raps!” Meek Mill would not even have to reveal knowledge of the reference tracks just yet because that one line alone would have been enough to get the rap world’s attention and leave people wondering where this is all coming from. By doing this he would have caught Drake’s camp totally off guard, which is a perfect war tactic. Blindside your opponent when it’s time to invade. He also would have established himself as the aggressor. So if you compare it to boxing, usually the more aggressive boxer gets the most cheers from the crowd (in this case, the fans.) Ultimately, the fans get a say in who won the battle or not. After the first shot, Meek should have stayed off of social media, no rants and Twitter fingers. Let Drake think he may not have something like the reference tracks to destroy him. Wait for a reply on record. Once Drake responds, which could have possibly sounded different, than what he has out now, that is when Meek Mill (without any warning from his team or famous DJ’s) should have came back immediately with the ether.

First of all, this would have negated any chance of there being a record called “Back to Back” and would have killed any of the self proclaimed 6 God’s momentum. This is when Meek should have let everything out without holding back anything. I’m talking about three verses mentioning everything from having a co-writer to the alleged incident inside of the “Takers” movie screening in 2010. This is when he goes back to his battle rap days and use that approach. That means rapping some facts, jokes, personal attacks, and great delivery to humiliate the biggest guy in Hip-Hop. This would have made Drizzy vulnerable and his back would have been against the ropes. It would have sent rap fans, bloggers, radio, and social media into a frenzy. It would not have knocked out Drake the singer and entertainer but it would have ether-ed Drake the lyricist and MC. Meek Mill, the flashy and energetic kid from the streets of Philadelphia, would have been victorious. Battle over.

Unless you’ve been living on Mars the past few weeks, you know that it did not play out that way at all. Unfortunately, Meek Mill underestimated his foe and Drake was almost flawless with his counter attack. Instead of being strategic, Meek was in his feelings and “jump[ed] out the face.” I’m not going to say this battle is over, but I will say that Mr. Dream Chaser has a lot of catching up to do.

P.S. My sister, Jasmine Turner, is responsible for the line “jump[ed] out the face” in this article. She got her credit now I’m gone.
