[Nikki Hears It First] Tone Skee – Win *Episode Eleven*

We got a new episode of Nikki Hears It First! Where I film my reaction to hearing a new track or watching a music video from an indie artist. This time on my eleventh episode, I’m watching Seattle Hip-Hop Artist Tone Skee with his music video “Win”. Take a look at what I thought about it and I would love to hear what you guys think about the track/visual!

[AUDIO] 40Groove – Your Spot

[SEATTLE, WA] Making his return on NikkiSiixx.com, we have hip-hop artist 40Groove who’s bringing us his latest single YOUR SPOT. Produced by Heartbeatz, this track really reminds me of an old school R&B track. 40Groove makes his way with his harmonies, but I do feel like he stands out more on his raps. Maintaining his productivity, 40Groove is on his way to releasing his third official album entitled “The Return of Saucy James” on August 11th! Stayed tuned for more from 40Groove!

[SEATTLE-GEORGIA] Making his debut on NikkiSiixx.com, upcoming artist TONE SKEE releases his visual for his single RECOVERY. Off his anticipated mixtape G.A.B (Gifted And Blessed). This heavy bassed track from TONE SKEE reminds me of Southern Hospitality. From the production, catchy hook, and overall performance TONE SKEE is an artist to look out for. I really like the setup for the visual, abandoned house with the orange jail suit, and the Hannibal Lecter mask. Pretty sick!

According to TONE SKEE: “I’ve always endured both influences from the west coast and south while as young teen going back and forth from Seattle to Georgia. Growing up I always love the passion and sound of music, I felt like it was my way out through heartbreaks and tribulations. I speak on what I’ve been through and where I’m headed!!

Make sure you follow TONE SKEE on all his social media links below and look out for more material from the West/South Coast Artist.

Music Video: Aaron Cohen – The One

theonescreenreal[SEATTLE/NEW YORK] After making his debut on NikkiSiixx.com by getting featured on Awkword Approved Top Rap Prospects of 2016, Aaron Cohen is headed to nothing but good things. Once his single THE ONE released it has over 7,000 plays just in two days. Maintaining the momentum, Aaron Cohen and HipHopDX collaborated on the visuals to THE ONE. The track is hella catchy, shoutout to KEMAL for the dope production, and the video was shot in Los Angeles by Director Peter Sobat.

THE ONE describes the issues when it comes to becoming an independent artist with a following. Not being able to maintain a relationship and falling for the sins of the music industry. It’s hard not to follow these traits when you have women and your music. Be on the lookout for more content from Aaron Cohen in 2016!

Audio: Ronnie Dylan – Prey featuring Jake Crocker

ronnie dylan prey[SEATTLE, WA] Ronnie Dylan, an upcoming artist who has recently released his single PREY, featuring Jake Crocker. Ronnie Dylan provides a deeper message with describing what happened to one of his family member, who overdose and was able to survive. Usually Ronnie Dylan’s music has a more positive sound but with Prey he was able to be dark with a sense of light. Besides being the featured artist Jake Crocker, he also produced PREY! Be on the look out for more music from Ronnie Dylan.

Audio: The Flavr Blue – Oxygen featuring Jarell Perry

This song made my ears rise as soon as the beat dropped. Representing Seattle, The Flavr Blue has been working hard on they’re highly anticipated EP titled The Love Notes and has recruited Jarell Perry, to bless your earlobes with their smooth rhythmic single “Oxygen”. The group is led by singer Hollis Wong-Wear, whose voice graced the Billboard Top 20 hit “White Walls” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. With him are a talented pair of singers/producers Lace Cadence and Parker Joe, each with a litany of Seattle hip hop and R&B releases under their belts. The eclectic sound is nothing new for the rising group, as they started recording like most independent artist do, in a tiny bedroom. Their sound is universal and has translated to wild live shows with fans as diverse as the sound that brings them all together. Make sure to follow this dope group as they get ready to blow up with the release of The Love Notes and a nationwide tour for 2016.
