[LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA] Originally from the Bronx, Hip-Hop/Rap Artist JU$TIN had an unfortunate experience with the LA County Jail system. He was fighting a felony charge for a month and half spending time behind bars. Luckily, he was released in time to graduate from Santa Monica College with honors. That experienced helped give enough inspiration to bring his first EP JU$T HU$TLE BxTxH: 3883076 to life and releasing his second EP $treet ART.
$treet ART was more like a throwback freestyle tape done over classic 90s NYC HipHop instrumentals. The title pays homage to the Graff culture and is a metaphor for how Street Artists tag their name onto other peoples property, which is what JU$TIN was doing by showing respect to a few classics by adding something new to it. JU$TIN released those two EP’s back in August of 2015 and now he presents us with his latest release JUSTIN Designed THAT EP. Making his debut on NikkiSiixx.com, I’m going to review my favorite tracks off the EP.
[LAPTOP 2 TRAPSPOT] When using your computer/laptop as a source of creating music, promoting yourself, and even making money off the internet. Your Laptop is your trapspot. JU$TIN elaborates the Cali scene with the finest greens. I sense with this track you can hear the East Coast Influence with the beat production by @SeriousBeats.
[JACKIE JOYNER KERSEE] With the opening statement of the track, it’s a woman’s voice that says “I think you learn so much from losing. I think-uh losing helps to keep things in perspective, helps you to evaluate what went wrong, and why was it that you came up short”. I find that quote to be empowering. JU$TIN says this is an anthem dedicated to all the money chasers that we face. The title is names over the legendary Olympic Gold Medalist Jackie Joyner Kersee. This is actually the first single off the JUSTIN Designed THAT EP, produced by @TrapMafiaBeatz.
[LOVE ME] Was the first song JU$TIN recorded on Thanksgiving Day and after listening to it, he decided he wanted to release another project for Christmas and started gathering beats from various producers online. It took about three to four weeks to get JUSTIN Designed THAT EP to be complete. The track LOVE ME, is expressing how people can’t help but appreciate him as a person and as an artist. This track you can hear the West Coast influence in its production, brought to you by @DJRELLYRELL.
[WORST DECISION EVER] JU$TIN goes in on his worst decision ever, which is dating someone who he wish he never met. The woman he was with decided to love someone else while JU$TIN was investing his time and emotions. He feels it has messed up his thought process. Hopefully, acknowledging what went wrong and learning from his mistakes.
“My writing process doesn’t consist of jotting rhymes down or typing into my mobile device, I construct the entire song in my head, w/ the hook being the first thing I record, and then I roll 1 up and vibe to the beat until the lyrics begin to come to me – JU$TIN
Besides being an artist, JU$TIN executes his visions through his graphic designs. He can draw, paint, and he even has a degree in Graphic Design plus a background in illustration from his time spent attending the High School of Art & Design in NYC. He even started his own clothing line. You can catch JU$TIN wearing it on the cover of JUSTIN Designed THAT EP, but you should check out his shop for some more graphic tees, crew neck sweaters, and pull over thermal hoodies that were personally designed by artist / designer JU$TIN.
[SANTA MONICA, CA] EVERY SEASON is a re-introduction to the artist/engineer/producer Jaae Kash who has now converted into Christian Rap and Hip-Hop. EVERY SEASON is the first single off his unreleased album God’s Will. Jay Kash knows his calling is to encourage the masses that God always has a plan for us even if we don’t see it at times. Pretty dope that Jaae Kash was able to deliver a really dope song without having to use any profanity. This will allow kids to listen in too. Here’s what Jaae Kash had to say what EVERY SEASON represents:
The production alone really stands out and surprising powerful lyrics praising God. With the positive motivation that God has given Jaae Kash he just wants to pursue his career by spreading the light through his music. Currently EVERY SEASON is available for free download via his Soundcloud Account. However, you can still extend your support, by purchasing it via iTunes or Google Play: SUPPORT HERE.
[WEST COAST] Ashley Bank$ is a force to be reckoned with. Femcee and Lyricist inspired by old school influencers such as Ice Cube, DJ Quick, and The Dogg Pound. Ashley Bank$ releases her debut mixtape The Queen Is King. Growing up in LA during its Gang Era gave Ashley Bank$ a tough persona that is respected from jump. A Bachelor’s Degree graduate mixed with her street creditability. She’s currently working on becoming the first female rapper to represent the West Coast on a national level. Ashley’s diverse background and life experiences make a true representation of the Hip-Hop scene. Does Ashley Bank$ have what it takes to take the throne? The Queen Is King mixtape is filled with club bangers, raw underground, new age, and old school sounds without missing a beat. Playful lyrics and heavy metaphors when the occasion calls for it. The title represents what Ashley Bank$ is trying to bring to the music industry,” The Queen is King“. Women in general aren’t given enough credit for what they achieve so she’s trying to make it known that women are the backbone for a lot of success and her goal for females as people, and especially hip-hop artist to be seen as equals or being the best. My favorite tracks off the project our Leave Me Lonely, Don’t Do Me, Get It How I Get It, Wavy, Bang Out, and Pole Dreams. For more updates with Ashley Bank$ follow her via her social media networks.

In the beginning of the music video you see Mic Moses links up with Matthew Liufau in his studio right before they have a performance set for the House of Blues. Matthew Liufau and Mic Moses are warming up before the performance. After a long night, Mic Moses awakens having to go to work. Having to open up the restaurant and get ready for the rest of the day. This shows dedication from Mic Moses, being able to work towards his career and maintaining a job. Mic Moses has that natural ability to produce a solid and unique sound. The track was produced by Eddie Ruxspin and Max Rebo and the visual was shot & edited by OJ County Productions. Havana Seoul is a 21-year-old artist that hails from the West Coast, but considers the DMV her home having spent most of her life in the DC Metropolitan area. Havana Seoul’s name is derived from, and in homage to her heritage. Her mother, of Korean and Black descent, was born in the capital city of South Korea, Seoul. Her father’s family escaped Fidel Castro when he came to power, and from there she pulls inspiration from Cuba’s capital Havana. Lastly, Seoul when you remove the “e” shows respect to her Black roots. With this new project, Vigilante, Havana puts on her metaphorical cape in hopes to be a savior to her friends, family, but perhaps most importantly, to herself. Havana tells us Vigilante was supposed to be a series of remixes, and that she has been coping with finding out her grandmother has stage 4 cancer. Also noting that the EP is “not well polished,” Havana is more focused on sharing music that reflects how she feels at the moment.
The opening track, “The Explanation” appropriately begins with an audio clip of Phoenix Jones, leader of the now disbanded costumed-activist group in Seattle, Washington – known as The Rain City Superhero Movement. This new 4-song EP almost feels like a continuation of her most recent mixtape, This Is Not A Cigar Club, because Havana is starting to develop her own sound as an artist. In her own eclectic way, Havana consciously addresses issues in the world, talks her shit using various flows (and at times languages), all while reminding us she is a college student. Give Vigilante a download and enjoy the sounds of Havana Seoul.
